Hillevi Vähälä-Aranko on 1988 Kuvataideakatemiasta valmistunut suomalainen taiteilija.

Vähälä-Aranko luonnehtii taiteellista prosessiaan löytöretkeksi, joka johdattaa hänet uusien näkökulmien äärelle sekä tutkimaan erilaisia prosesseja. Muistikuvista ja tapahtumista kumpuavat teokset kehittyvät maalausprosessin aikana jossa rakenteella sekä värin ja tilan käsittelyllä on tärkeä asema.

Uransa aikana Vähälä-Arangon taidetta on nähty niin ryhmä- kuin yksityisnäyttelyissä, mutta hänen töitään löytyy myös monista julkisista taidekokoelmista.

Uusimpaan näyttelyynsä inspiraation Vähälä-Aranko on alunperin löytänyt asumattoman talon hylätyistä esineistä, ja lähestyy nyt aihetta kertovalla otteella jossa muodoilla on sanottavaa.

Hillevi Vähä-Aranko is Finnish artist who graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in 1988.

Vähälä-Aranko describes her artistic process as a voyage of discovery, which leads her to consider new perspectives and to explore different creative avenues. While she employs fragments of memory and past events as a starting point, during her painting process structure, color, space and how these interact becomes the key factor at play.

During her career Vähälä-Aranko’s art has been displayed in both group- and private context, and her work can also be found in many public art collections.

Inspiration for her newest exhibition stems from items found in an abandoned house, and she approaches this topic with a narrative flair where shapes do the talking.
